PJ
It is possible to perform ON/OFF control using the D-Sub 15 pin in manual mode
(ON/OFF control is enabled regardless whether it is set to external/manual mode).
QA No. 11-0114
Why is there only 1 channel within the high/low range in terms of voltage for the PJ Control Unit?
When the PJ Control Unit was initially designed, the unit was not intended to be used with all 3 channels set to low.
Since only the 1st channel can be used with coaxial lighting, it is the only channel designed with a low range feature.
We also offer custom order products where all channels operate in a synchronized manner, and if you are interested, we ask that you inquire further with our various sales offices.

If more than 5V is applied, current in excess of the specified level will be allowed to flow, thereby resulting in an over-current error.

Regarding the PJ-1505-2CD24, is the 24V input terminal block equipped with a cover?
The standard product is not equipped with a cover.
An accessory (ML-250-3C-2P, Sato Parts) is available that acts as a cover.

Does the PJ Control Unit provide a lamp burnout detection feature for halogen light sources, etc.
Currently, our power supplies are not designed with any detection features.
If lamp burnout occurs while a constant current command value has been input (for panel or externally), the current will not flow, causing the constant current op-amp output to be saturated on the + side. Due to this behavior, it is relatively simple to achieve the same result by performing A/D monitoring for this
Please note, however, that for the HLV-27 (older model), since there is no internal ID resistor, it will not be possible to distinguish between such a condition and a condition where the light unit is disconnected and the command value has been input. If using the HLV-27, it will be necessary to add an internal resistor to enable lamp burnout detection.
Additionally, for the current PJ control circuit board, since there are only 2 unused channels for the A/D conversion input, it is possible to add a lamp burnout detection feature through modification (hardware and software change).
For the PJ3CH, although the software will become considerably more complicated, it is possible to achieve the same result by using an analog switching circuit to periodically switch channels to perform monitoring.

What is the approximate service life of a PJ Control Unit?
It is assumed that it is 5 years as long as it is used in an environment with typical temperature, humidity, and vibration conditions.
QA No. 11-0109
High/low switching will operate.
Only dimming can be externally controlled.
QA No. 11-0108
What is the size of the attachment screws for the PJ Control Unit D-Sub 15 pin?
As of May 2011, we use XM2C-1542-132L (inch screws) manufactured by OMRON (UNC #4-40).
QA No. 11-0107
Regardless of what model of LED light unit is used, when it is low the current level will typically be a maximum of 30mA.
QA No. 11-0106
Do the HLV2 dedicated PJ Series power supplies use PWM dimming?
They do not use PWM control.
They use analog-type constant current control.
